Apr. 25: "Sneak Peek" Day at USA Science & Engineering Festival; Doors Open Day Early for Media, Military Families, and 35,000 Students

WHAT
Sneak Peek Friday-presented by the "Department of Defense - Celebrating Diversity in STEM!"-for press, school children and invited military families will be held Friday, April 25, 2014 for the 3rd USA Science & Engineering Festival Expo and Book Fair, hosted by founding and presenting sponsor Lockheed Martin. Reporters are invited to get a preview of this free, family-friendly expo and book fair being held April 26-27 that allows kids and adults to participate in more than 3,000 hands-on activities and see nearly 150 live performances by science celebrities, explorers, best-selling authors, and world-renowned experts. Festival attendees will be able to test a flight simulator, interact with robots, see a 3D printer, step aboard a spaceship, meet storm chasers, learn to survive a zombie invasion, and more.

April 25, 8:30am-3pm: Media Sneak Peek Day Highlights (Bell Stage):

8:30am       Ribbon Cutting/Press Conference
9:15am "National Geographic Kids" announces 9th Guinness World Record title
10:20am Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, basketball legend and STEM ambassador
10:30am Women's Hackathon, a Microsoft (News - Alert) supported crowdsourcing event taking place live at the Festival to empower young women in computer science
