Lights, camera, action for new trade show [China Daily: Hong Kong Edition]

(China Daily: Hong Kong Edition Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) A new trade fair is eyeing up business opportunities in the burgeoning lighting and electronic industries.

Asian Lighting & Consumer Electronics Exhibition, or the ALEEX, is making its debut in Guangzhou at the Poly World Trade Center Expo from today until April 17.

The new show is giving trade buyers from abroad and from the fast-growing domestic market a platform to meet directly with nearly 200 suppliers from Hong Kong special administrative region, Taiwan and Chinese mainland as well as South Korea.

Timed to coincide with the peak buying timeslot in April, the ALEEX is expected to attract a large number of buyers on the Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Guangzhou circuit, particularly those coming to Guangzhou for the Canton Fair Phase 1.

The shows will be located next door to one another, making life easier for potential buyers.

The ALEEX is co-organised by Guangzhou Grandhub Exhibition Co Ltd and Mega Expo (Hong Kong) Ltd and is supported by trade and economic associations in Fujian, Zhejiang and Guangdong provinces.

Products on show in the consumer electronics category include gadgets, small home appliances, digital products, eco and energy-saving electronics, smart devices and accessories.

The lighting sector will feature the latest commercial, household, outdoor, LED and eco lighting and accessories.

The twin-theme exhibition will also showcase inspirational products designed to make everyday tasks easier.

One such design is a minimalist wireless battery charger from Inform Designs Ltd that features cutting-edge Qi inductive charging technology.

The device allows people to charge smart devices on the go as cables are not needed. Smartphones, tablets, Bluetooth speakers and other devices simply need to be placed on the charger pad.

Twinkling warning lights from Power View Industrial Ltd come with an alert sound and LED lights. With passive infrared sensor detection, they emit light when people come close. Covering a distance of 4 meters, the lights are an ideal way to remind people to stay away from potential danger that may be hidden at night.

Roller Toothbrush is an oral care gadget by New Century (Hong Kong) Co Ltd. The innovatively designed brush helps massage gums, prevents periodontal diseases and sweep away plaque.

China-based Foshan Shunde Amnois Photoelectric Technology Co Ltd has a stand of LED commercial and home lighting products. The company produces fashionable and innovative LED lamps and lights.

More details about the exhibition are available at the show website: www.aleex.cn.
