Ascom Bolsters Interoperability and Enhances Clinical Workflow [Manufacturing Close - Up]

(Manufacturing Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Ascom Wireless Solutions, a provider of on-site communications systems, has released the new Integration Module for Telligence Nurse Call (IMT), a solution designed to improve interoperability that enables advanced clinical workflow and speeds response to patient calls.

According to a release, IMT connects Telligence Nurse Call with the Ascom Unite middleware platform, which delivers intelligent integration, advanced alert messaging and system management in one package. The new module also can connect Nurse Call with other, third-party middleware solutions, says David Foth, Product Manager, Ascom.

Leveraging the Telligence Nurse Call system to reach mobile devices speeds communications between the patient and their assigned caregivers, enabling faster and more efficient care.

"Caregivers can press a single key on the mobile device to respond directly to a patient, thus eliminating the need to walk to the patient's room to establish their needs," Foth explains.

When IMT is used to integrate Telligence to Ascom Unite, users benefit from interfaces with applications such as Unite Assign, which enables easy drag-and-drop staff assignments, and Unite View, which provides a centralized display of events and alerts associated with each patient room and bed.

"Unite View helps organizations to better manage workflow and bottlenecks associated with caregiver workload. Such data, also can provide insight in to caregiver performance, patient call volumes, historical event trends and event investigations." says Foth.

The introduction of IMT is an important step in support of international growth initiatives for Ascom's Telligence Nurse Call system. The release coincides with the announcement of Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) certification for sale of Telligence in Mexico. The mandatory NOM certification confirms that Telligence complies with all required regulatory and safety standards for the sale of electronic products in Mexico and enables Ascom to expand sales in the region.

"Ascom can deliver a single, complete solution that meets the on- site communications needs of organizations throughout the world," Foth concludes.
