EOW summons prominent Haresh Jagtiani in QNet case [Mumbai] [Times of India]

(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MUMBAI: The city economic offences wing (EOW), probing the Rs 425-crore cheating case allegedly committed by multi-level marketing firm QNet, on Monday summoned prominent lawyer, Haresh Jagtiani, and asked him to assist in the probe. Jagtiani is said to be a founder promoter of Bonvo Travel (India) Private Limited, a franchise of QNet.

Rajvardhan Sinha, additional commissioner of police, EOW, said, "Jagtiani appeared before the EOW in connection with this case. We called him to understand his role." Jagtiani is said to have been holding the maximum share Bonvo Pvt. Ltd. Earlier, the EOW questioned Michael Ferreira, winner of the World Amateur Billiards Championship and a Padma Bhushan recipient, and actor Boman Irani's son, Danesh, in connection with this cheating case. Bank accounts of Ferreira and Danesh have been frozen.

In February, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) registered a case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act against QNet, Vihaan Direct Selling company, Ferreira and QNet's office-bearer, Vijay Eswaran.
