(Mirror (UK) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) AN ambulance service blasted over tragic failures spends more on public relations than any other in the country.
East of England's PR team costs Pounds 247,000 a year - more than the London 999 service covering 2.5 million people and enough to hire 10 paramedics. It has been blasted by MPs and a coroner after response delays ended in the deaths of a baby and a 14-year-old girl.
Junior health minister and Suffolk MP Dan Poulter branded the PR spending "distressing". The service said the team was "a vital reference point for patients".
