Cloud Sherpas Launches Global Cloud Advisory Practice

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwired) -- 03/20/14 -- Cloud Sherpas has made a multi-million dollar commitment to create and rapidly expand a Cloud Advisory practice group to serve the world's largest companies. Backed by a $10 million investment spread over two years, the Cloud Advisory team will operate independent of Cloud Sherpas' Technology Services business units, allowing the group's consulting team to provide broad and impartial guidance to clients considering cloud solutions.

Cloud Sherpas is the first cloud-native IT services firm to launch a vendor-neutral advisory program. The firm is in a unique position to do so. Cloud Sherpas consultants have managed more than 5,000 enterprise cloud implementations on three continents the past seven years, guiding clients in the evaluation and use of dozens of the world's most sophisticated cloud products, including those from Salesforce, Google, ServiceNow, Informatica, AirWatch, DocuSign, Twilio and others.

Cloud Advisory will be staffed initially by nearly two dozen Cloud Sherpas consultants in North America, Europe and Australia. Cloud Sherpas vice president Matthew Johnson will run the practice, reporting to CEO David Northington. Northington and Johnson will officially launch Cloud Advisory at a customer event in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 16. The Atlanta event will be followed by similar Cloud Advisory events in New York and San Francisco.

A primary focus of the Cloud Advisory team will be on helping clients navigate successfully to the cloud through the Cloud Discovery Workshop, which includes four main components: Cloud Strategy: develop a clear strategic endstate for the cloud program, including a shared vision of the business drivers across executive stakeholders Platform Evaluation: conduct vendor-neutral assessment of current technology to determine the prime opportunities for business improvement through cloud migration Business Capabilities: define future business capabilities that will be enabled through cloud solutions Transformation Plan: detail the roadmap to successfully guide the transformation to the cloud "Cloud has fundamentally changed the landscape of technology and business," said Matt Johnson, Cloud Sherpas VP of Global Cloud Advisory. "Moving your organization to the cloud is no longer a question of if or even when. Today, the focus is on how you'll do it. Transitioning to the cloud may seem daunting, but through proper evaluation and strategy, a clear path is possible. We're excited to formalize our approach to helping clients make that move." "Cloud Sherpas is focused on advancing its position as the leading resource for planning global enterprise cloud migrations and delivering world-class technology services," said David Northington, CEO of Cloud Sherpas. "According to a recent study, by 2017 enterprise spending on cloud computing will amount to a projected $235.1B(1) and our focus is being a major player.
