CATERPILLAR UNVEILS NEW CAT DISPLAYS FOR YACHTS AT THE 2014 MIAMI INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW


(ENP Newswire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ENP Newswire - 13 March 2014 Release date- 12032014 - Miami, FL - Caterpillar Marine is pleased to announce the launch of the next generation colour marine power displays for customers in the yacht market segment.



The 7' and 13' displays will be entering the market in late 2014, and they will feature multi-touch capable screens, user friendly swipe navigation, Home Button, and improved graphics. These displays will be fully integrated with the Cat marine engines and Cat Three60 propulsion solutions. The 13' inch Cat display will be featured with the Cat Three60 Precision controls simulator at the Caterpillar booth #P79 at the Miami International Boat Show, held February 13-17th in Miami, Florida.

'We're very excited to introduce our new, top-of-the-line touch screen displays with Linux Operating System,' Merritt Callaghan, Caterpillar Marine Electronics supervisor said. 'We've worked closely with our process partners to develop a market leading display suited to the unique marine market requirements.' The Cat display was designed to integrate seamless with the high-end yacht bridges. It will feature low bezel height, optical bonded glass for optimized daylight readability, viewable with polarized lens, LED backlight, multiple datalinks (2x CAN, 2x Ethernet, 2x USB & 1x RS485), and external output drivers for audible alarms. The new Cat displays will include ABS, BV, DNV, GL, LRS, and ClassNK Marine Society Approvals. Additionally, the 13' inch display will be a future service replacement for the existing Cat Engine Vision displays.


Display software will support standard Cat marine display features plus, modern graphics, optimized day and night modes with an auto-dimming feature, swipe navigation between multi operator screens, multiple Ethernet cameras, a real time clock, external USB keyboard/mouse support and PDF file uploads. Additionally, it will feature enhanced Three60 Precision features like Station Keeping Activation, Station Keeping GPS position, Three60 diagnostics, Shaft Speed and Bow/Stern thruster percent activation.
