Dave McDermitt, assistant vice president & information security officer at Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, was selected as the Information Security Executive® of the Year Award winner. is responsible for the design, development, delivery, and monitoring of the Sixth Federal Reserve District’s information security, as well as its risk management, policy compliance, identity and access management, and awareness efforts. He also oversees the District’s information technology security architecture, with a focus on security policies, security engineering, security operations, and information assurance. Brandon Lowther, Director at Hilton Worldwide, and Robert Mims, chief information security officer for AGL Resources, were also honored during the event as finalists in the executive category. Additionally, Mims was named the 2014 ISE® Southeast People’s Choice Award Winner. This award represents the nominee who best exemplifies information security leadership as voted on by his peers in information security.


The “PCI Compliance Remediation,” was selected as the ISE® Southeast Project of the Year. Shaun Hunt, vice president of IT Governance for the American Cancer Society, which set out to reduce PCI scope and risk and prepare for a single, onsite PCI audit in late Q2 2013, following a merger of 12 chartered divisions organization with the National Home Office.

Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta’s project, “Enterprise Board Portal,” and Cigna-HealthSpring’s project, “Enterprise HR System Consolidation and Controls Integration Project,” were selected as finalists for the ISE® Southeast Project of the Year Award.
