David Kendrick Joins NCQA Board of Directors
WASHINGTON --(Business Wire)--
The National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) announced today the
newest member of its Board of Directors: David Kendrick, MD, principle
investigator and CEO of the MyHealth Access Network, a Beacon Community.
Dr. Kendrick was elected to the board in December.
"David Kendrick has developed impressive strategies to implement
healthcare IT in ways that improve the availability and usefulness of
data to support clinical decision making and improve health care
quality," said NCQA President Margaret E. O'Kane. "I am looking forward
to his valuable contributions as a Board member."
MyHealth Access Network provides advanced health information exchange,
community-wide care coordination tools, and a obust decision support
platform to support providers in providing high quality, coordinated
care.
Dr. Kendrick is an associate professor of medicine and pediatrics and
the Kaiser Chair of Community Medicine at the University of Oklahoma's
School of Community Medicine. In addition, he serves the University's
Health Sciences Center as the Assistant Provost for Strategic Planning
and serves as the Chair of the Department of Community Medical
Informatics (News - Alert).
NCQA is governed by an independent Board of Directors, composed of 15
members and the NCQA president. The NCQA board pulls together
multi-stakeholder perspectives to guide NCQA in its work to improve
health care quality. It includes representatives from purchasers,
clinicians, public policy experts, consumer groups and health systems.
