Media powerhouse gets multiple acclaims [Business Times (Malaysia)](Business Times (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd has received multiple recognition, including the Best Overall Corporate Governance Company in Malaysia, at the 2013 Asiamoney's Corporate Governance awards. The event, which was held in Hong Kong last week, also saw the company taking home the Best Company for Disclosure and Transparency, Best Company for Responsibilities of Management and the Board of Directors and Best Company for Investor Relations in Malaysia. Media Prima was ranked No. 2 for Best Company Shareholders' Rights and Equitable Treatment. "The best overall for corporate governance in Malaysia is a recognition of our efforts in implementing stringent standards of good governance and transparency in our business operations," said Media Prima chairman Datuk Johan Jaaffar in a statement. Group managing director Datuk Amrin Awaluddin said to be recognised as the best overall corporate governance company in the country for three consecutive years is a tremendous achievement. "It is a strong acknowledgement of our continuous effort to manage our business the right way. "We have consistently ranked among the best in Asia in terms of good corporate governance and this has contributed tremendously to the growth of Media Prima," he said. The media powerhouse was also awarded the Platinum winner of the National Annual Corporate Report Awards 2013 for Corporate Social Responsibility Reporting.
