For the latest on this developing story, click here. The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for sleet, freezing rain and snow from 6 p.m. Saturday through 6 a.m. Monday. The freezing rain and sleet is expected to begin Saturday evening and continue through Sunday before changing over to all snow Sunday evening. Snow and sleet accumulation is expected to be between 4 and 7 inches along with one-tenth to two-tenths of an inch of ice. The sleet and snow will create hazardous travel conditions Saturday into Sunday across Southern Illinois.
