Aerospike Cited By Leading Research Firm as One of Top Vendors of an In-Memory Database

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Aerospike today announced that the company has been identified as one of the top vendors that offer an in-memory database in the TechRadar™: Enterprise DBMS, Q1 20141 report published by Forrester (News - Alert) Research, Inc. on February 13, 2014. The report, which categorizes in-memory databases as being in the growth stage, states: "Forrester estimates that more than 50 percent of the enterprises will be using in-memory databases by 2017."

The Forrester TechRadar: Enterprise DBMS, Q1 20142 report observes, "Although in-memory databases are not new, applications have only recently begun to fully exploit them." The report3 also says, "Storing and processing customer data in-memory enables upselling and cross-selling new products based on customer likes, dislikes, friend circles, buying patterns, and past orders."

Aerospike, which delivers an in-memory NoSQL database, also was cited by the Forrester report as a vendor in the key-value store category. The Forrester TechRadar: Enterprise DBMS, Q1 20144 report notes that, "Key-value store under NoSQL is helping deliver new possibilities for enterprises looking to build new types of social, mobile and cloud apps. The ey business value is the ability for enterprises to build new scalable apps for low cost."

Aerospike Database for Real-Time Context-Driven Personalization

Aerospike's hybrid-memory architecture is unique in storing indexes in DRAM and managing data either in DRAM or on solid-state devices (SSDs) for dramatic price/performance. Today, it is the user profile store or real-time context store of choice in real-time bidding for many of today's global-scale digital advertising and cross-channel marketing platforms. Applications that personalize the consumer experience across channels, including Web, mobile, search, social, and email, rely on Aerospike for predictable low latency as they read and write real-time user activity data in order to deliver the most relevant response.

Aerospike Database for Reliable, Cost-Effective Caching

Aerospike is also used to accelerate existing enterprise applications that use traditional in-memory or relational database systems. "Enterprises across a range of industries are facing dual challenges of speed and scale as they seek to keep up with the increasing volumes of real-time big data flowing in from the Web and mobile devices," said Joe Gottlieb, Aerospike CEO. "By combining in-memory for speed and NoSQL for scale, our Aerospike database reliably manages the mixed read/write transaction processing loads of these apps-delivering price/performance unmatched by existing caching technologies, data grids or relational databases. We are honored to be identified by Forrester as not only a key-value store vendor but as a top in-memory database vendor, and we view it as validation of the value we bring to enterprises through our hybrid approach."
