CARTES America 2014 Tackles Digital Security - More Than PINS and Passwords

ATLANTA --(Business Wire)--

Gone are the days when digital security just meant updating your password or entering a PIN to make an online transaction. Today's financial services, wireless providers, online retailers, and ID and smart card companies face a complex list of mobile, online, e-ecommerce and secure ID challenges to protect their data, their business and gain consumers' trust. Charting these pervasive threats and seeking innovative solutions in digital security will highlight major sessions at this year's CARTES America 2014 conference.

Among session tracks at this year's conference, held on May 13-15 in Las Vegas, Nev., is a combination of both the "Digital Security" and "Secure Identity: Fraud and ID Management" session that will give attendees a view of the expanding threats, and innovative solutions, in digital security.

The three-day conference and exhibition, features 50 education programs and six keynote sessions, with a range of topics focusing on digital security including:

  • What we can learn from the NSA about linking e-IDs and smart phone use, and new Trusted Platform Module (TM) applications;
  • Boosting strong authentication as "personal clouds" evolve;
  • Next generation ultra-secure e-IDs and e-passports;
  • Continuous authentication for digital wallet deployments;
  • New embedded secure elements (ESE) for smart cards;
  • Managing enterprise security and authentication for BYOD (bring your own devices);
  • The convergence of digital IDs and NFC transactions.

"Securing data and authenticating identity and online access is far more complex today given the wide-scale adoption of mobile transactions, cloud-based data and always-on access," said Isabelle Alfano, exhibition director of CARTES America. "CARTES America brings an expert view of these issues through a series of education and networking forums."

This year CARTES 2014 attendees can choose from a one or three day full conference pass (with full access to all presentations, keynotes, the exhibition, lunch and special receptions), or a one or three day event pass (with access to keynote presentations, the exhibition and special receptions).
