HTC Promises to Update New Products for 2 Years [T-break Tech (Middle East)]

(T-break Tech (Middle East) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) HTC normally ends support for their smartphones for only 18 months.

HTC recently an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit  wherein they made statement saying that new models to come out this year will at least have 2 years of software support – which is 6 months longer than the normal timeframe. The statement said, "Given the immense resource requirements for updates we can't solve all our past issues, but today we are making a commitment to support all new flagship devices going forward with all major Android updates for 2 years after their release date." This is a big step up for people investing on an HTC smartphone, which they can make sure that they would always get the latest updates. The HTC One was recently certified to receive its Android 4.4 KitKat update. Android users normally complain about the time it takes for smartphones to be updated to the latest version – unless you own a Nexus device which normally gets the latest updates first.    The post HTC Promises to Update New Products for 2 Years appeared first on tbreak.
