Six String Grill to Feature One-of-a-Kind Mobile POS System

The Six String Grill, the premier destination restaurant nestled within Hill Country Golf & Guitar featuring a premium mini-golf experience and live music, announced today that it will use a mobile point of sale (POS) system customized for its iPad Mini-equipped staff. Because of its large and open setting, the Six String Grill wanted a solution that allows staff to serve guests anywhere on the venue's grounds - whether on the mini-golf course, in the teen's Tree House or in front of the stage.

Opening Spring 2014 in Bee Cave, the Six String Grill can host more than 200 guests on its beautifully tiered, outdoor patio and at cozy, indoor tables. Overlooking the mini-golf course, lawn and live music, the Six String Grill will offer a casual dining and entertainment experience in a family-friendly environment.

"Hill Country Golf & Guitar is a unique venue with multiple buildings and service areas, so we had to provide a unique solution," said Corey Smith, director of operations at Austin POS, the company that customized the mobile POS provided by Squirrel Systems. "We had to create a wireless system so the fun doesn't stop because someone wants a drink."

Using this custom-built mobile system, servers equipped with iPad Minis can take orders and process payments without interrupting customers' fun. From there, the orders are immediately sent to the kitchen or bar for preparation. Additionally, the system is functional, stable and easy for the staff to use. Even in the event that internet access goes down completely, the server will still have access to the system.

"The Six String Grill will be well-known for its quality service and tasty food," said Restaurant Manager Gloria Gunning. "In the end, we chose our new system because it reinforces our commitment to creating a seamless dining and entertainment experience for each guest."

From its POS system to its interior design, the Six String Grill is a guest-centered venue. Inside, the Six String Grill will be accentuated with vintage and celebrity guitars on the walls and seats covered in faux alligator leather as a celebration of music and Austin's quirky flair.
