Digital marketing firm Pyxl expands [The Knoxville News-Sentinel, Tenn. :: ]

(Knoxville News-Sentinel (TN) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Feb. 11--opens third office Digital marketing firm Pyxl is expanding its presence in the West with the opening of a third office this week in Boulder, Colo.

The Knoxville-based company, which designs and develops custom websites, Web applications and mobile apps, also has an office in Phoenix.

The company was founded in 2000 but transitioned into a full-service digital marketing firm in 2009. It has since continued to see year-over-year growth.

Pyxl landed on the Inc. 5000 list of America's fastest-growing private companies last year, after posting a 299 percent growth rate from 2009 to 2012.

Its revenues grew from nearly $700,000 in 2009 to $2.8 million in 2012.

Some of Pyxl's clients include Pilot Flying J, Carpathia Hosting, ProNova Solutions, TEAM and INSYS.

Pyxl President Josh Phillips said the company has no plans to slow down "In our view, regardless of the newest technology or social network, customers want to know what's working and how to achieve even better results. That fact hasn't diminished at all. I'd argue it has grown even more as people experience what the alternative is, which is throw a ton of money at something and just hope something sticks," he said.

The company plans to hire and open additional offices in the future.

Currently Pyxl has 27 full time employees. The company plans to hire an additional 12 positions this year including three in Boulder.

The Boulder office is being managed by Lynsay Russell, formerly of Knoxville.

To kick off the opening of the new location, the company will hold a competition to award one company $100,000 worth of digital marketing services.
