Paramore Unveils One of a Kind LED Sign Controlled by Smartphone App, Paramore Color(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) NASHVILLE, TN -- (Marketwired) -- 02/10/14 -- Paramore, an international digital agency based in Nashville, has unveiled a state-of-the-art sign on top of the agency's new office in Nashville, Tennessee. Paramore partnered with Nashville-based Joslin & Son Signs to create the one of a kind insignia, which is a multi-colored, programmable sign powered by LEDs and controlled with a mobile smartphone app created by Paramore. Development of the new sign kicked off at the same time Paramore entered the planning stages of their move to Nashville's St. Cloud Corner building in the downtown area. Joslin & Sons built the physical sign. Paramore built the hardware controller and wrote the software to bring it to life. "To our knowledge, this is the first sign with these capabilities," said Hannah Paramore, president of Paramore. "The opportunity to have a sign on the skyline of Nashville is amazing, and the ability to change the color from a smartphone app we developed kicks it over the top for us." App users could be anywhere in the world and change the color of the Paramore sign in Nashville. The colors in the sign reflect the Paramore brand, but are also programmed to be seasonal or thematic. For instance, during Super Bowl XLVIII, Paramore used the sign to predict the winner of the big game, offering only colors that matched the teams, Denver, Seattle -- and of course Puppies. Paramore tracked the votes using the built-in analytics in the app to keep tabs on who was ahead. To control the LEDs in the sign, Paramore used an Arduino microcontroller. Arduino's are built to make controllers more accessible in electronic projects. The Paramore Color app communicates to an in-house server, which transmits the color value to the Arduino through an Ethernet cable. Paramore Color can be downloaded here.
