Pantheon Names Key Sales Hire In Global Push

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Pantheon [www.getpantheon.com], the SaaS (News - Alert)-based website platform of choice for professional developers, designers and marketers, today announced it has appointed industry veteran Scott Crawford to lead the company's worldwide sales operations. Crawford is well known for heading up sales efforts at IBM (News - Alert) and Dell Boomi, the Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) integration leader acquired by Dell in 2010.

"Websites are the face of your business and the top deliverable for marketing teams all over the world, yet the status quo in the WCM market is terrible," said Zack Rosen, CEO and co-founder of Pantheon. "We are seeing a groundswell of website developers and designers shifting to a more modern and simpler way of creating larger websites using Pantheon. Scott has an exceptional track record of building sales teams from the ground up, making him a powerful addition to the team."

Crawford brings sales management experience in both early stage companies to large enterprises. Prior to Pantheon, Crawford led sales efforts at Dell (News - Alert) Boomi and IBM. While at IBM, Crawford led the integration softwaresales teams throughout Asia and in southwest Europe, based in Shanghai/Beijing and Paris respectively. Previously, Crawford drove significant revenue growth in various executive sales roles for i2 Technologies, Inforte and Cambridge Technology Partners.

"Being at the center of this new paradigm--where building highly scalable websites that are more dynamic is the norm--is incredibly exciting. I am once again looking forward to being part of a team that is changing a market," added Scott Crawford.

A mission-critical website should never keep people waiting, but that's what traditional hosting requires. Developers and site owners wait to provision additional resources. They wait for infrastructure configurations. They wait to upgrade VMs and server clusters. They wait to deploy and test new features. Pantheon is a website platform for professionals who want to run mission-critical websites--not manage them. Because smooth scaling happens in software, not servers, websites that run on Pantheon can instantly scale in response to unplanned traffic spikes, without upgrading VMs or clusters. A container-based infrastructure allows developers to introduce new features quickly, without also introducing bugs. Every website gets its own, dedicated dev, test, and live environments--each with identical configurations.

Pantheon is used by Intel (News - Alert), Cisco, A&E Networks The New Republic, Arizona State University, and over 50,000 websites.

Crawford will be based in San Francisco offices and is responsible for all direct and channel sales channels as VP of sales and business development.
