Radisphere to Launch New Software Company Enabling Healthcare Providers to Use Radiology to Improve Patient Outcomes and Lower Cost of Care

CLEVELAND --(Business Wire)--

Radisphere, a leading national radiology practice, today announced plans to launch an independent software company that will enable health systems and their existing radiologists to manage the shift toward value-based care and population health. The new company will sign non-compete agreements with local radiology groups and will not provide any radiology interpretations or procedures.

Over the past 12 years, Radisphere has developed a unique set of intellectual property that has enabled its practice to achieve high compliance against standards and deliver professional radiology services across a geographically distributed region. The independent new entity will sell software and services to health systems and radiologists to enable standards-based radiology.

Over the next several months, the new company will announce its management team and detail its products and services. Radisphere CEO and President Scott Seidelmann, Chairman and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Frank Seidelmann, and Vice President o Professional Services Alexandrea Fair will continue to lead the practice and remain focused on providing professional radiology interpretations to hospitals nationally.

"The new company is predicated on the fact that radiology is one of the most important service lines in a value-based healthcare environment," said Scott Seidelmann. "Radisphere is a very successful national radiology practice and has developed software and knowledge on how to deploy and manage standards-based radiology to drive greater healthcare value. There is demand for this technology and expertise across health systems that have strong local radiologists in place providing care. We are building this independent entity to further invest in capabilities that enable radiologists to engage in population health management, while Radisphere continues to focus on its core business."

Seidelmann continued: "The mission of the new company is to empower radiologists and providers to identify and capture the full value of radiology so they can measurably improve patient outcomes and lower total healthcare costs in a value-based environment."
