TOMORROW: Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal to Speak at School Choice Rally in TucsonTUCSON, Ariz. --(Business Wire)-- State Superintendent of Public Instruction John Huppenthal will join students, parents, teachers and community leaders at a National School Choice Week whistle-stop rally in Tucson on Wednesday, January 29 at 10:00 a.m. at the Old Tucson Studios. The event, which is designed to show support for increased education options for Arizona families, is part of the cross-country whistle-stop tour organized by National School Choice Week, which runs from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1. National School Choice Week - which will feature more than 5,500 independently-planned events across the country - will be the nation's largest-ever celebration of educational opportunity. Additional speakers include Jaime Molera, former Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Member of the Arizona State Board of Education; Lisa Graham Keegan, former Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction and Senior Adviser to National School Choice Week; and Courtney Cox (News - Alert), a student from Canyon Rose Academy. The event will also include a performance from a student from San Miguel High School. The event is hosted by National School Choice Week in partnership with Arizona Alternative Education Consortium, Arizona Charter Schools Association, Democrats for Education Reform, Education Reform Now, GreatSchools.org, Institute for Better Education, Pima Joint Technical Education District, Presidio School, Rose Academies, San Miguel High School / Cristo Rey Network, Sonoran Schools, and Step Up Schools.
