Pulse Electronics Adds a Class H Line Driver to 30 MHz VDSL2 Transformer Family

SAN DIEGO --(Business Wire)--

Pulse Electronics Corporation (NYSE: PULS), a leading provider of electronic components, adds a new Class H line driver VDSL2 30MHz vectored transformer to its series of transformers that is compliant for use with the Lantiq (News - Alert) Vinax V3 chipset family. The BX4289LNL and BX4289LNLT transformers are used with the Class H line driver to deliver high bandwidth over existing copper transmission lines. These transformers have improved longitudinal balance and provide excellent total harmonic distortion performance on a very compact platform. Where the copper infrastructure is already available, the BX4289LNL supports the Lantiq chipset technology to drive data rates up to 150 Mbps/downstream and 100 Mbps/upstream on a single line, supporting such services as HD IPTV (News - Alert), high-speed Internet access, multi-player gaming networks, and VoIP.

"VDSL2 has the potential to reach 100 Mbps, but noise among the lines in a cable impedes performance," explained Ronan Kelly, Pulse (News - Alert) Electronics broadband product manager. "VDSL2 vectoring cuts out all of the noise, or interference, among the VDSL2 lines in a bundle, so every line within a bundle can operate at peak performance, as if no other VDSL2 lines are present. This results in superior performance and enables copper to reach its full potential, providing a solution for the continuing demand for higher bandwidth."

Pulse Electronics' BX4289LNL transformer is packaged in trays while the BX4289LNLT is packaged in tape and reel. They are EN60950 functional isolation compliant -250Vrms and RoHS-6 compliant SMD products. They are available now with a lead-time of 8 weeks. Evaluation sampls are available immediately. More information can be found for the BX4290LNL on datasheet located on the Pulse website at http://productfinder.pulseeng.com/product/BX4289LNL, contact Pulse at [email protected], or visit the Pulse Electronics website at www.pulseelectronics.com.
