China threatened by US 'double standards' on cyber security norms [Asian News International]

(Asian News International Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Beijing, Jan. 17 (ANI); China's Foreign Ministry has reportedly said that US is exhibiting double standards by developing technology that is capable of attacking foreign databases sans internet connectivity with the ability to dodge possible cyberthreats from other nations.

The remarks were made by China Ministry spokesman Hong Lei, following a news report that gave details of the U.S spyware that intends to mainly target Chinese military.

Hong said that Washington has endangered the sovereignty, security and public privacy of other countries through implementation of cyber surveillance, while playing up cyberthreats from other countries, China Daily reported.

According to reports, U.S relies on a technology that uses covert channel radio waves that can be transmitted from tiny circuit boards and USB cards inserted secretly into the computers for surveillance activities.

It is reported that the U.S has allegedly implanted the software in nearly 10,000 computers around the world to spy on its rivals and allies.

Meanwhile, China and Russia have urged United Nations to set up a global standard on information security.(ANI) (c) 2014 aninews.in All rights reserved. Provided by Syndigate.info, an Albawaba.com company
