Frequentz Announces Best-in-Class Serialization Offering to Meet Dynamic Regulatory and Business Needs in Food and Pharmaceutical Industries

(Marketwire Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) PALO ALTO, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 01/13/14 -- Frequentz released a new version of its Information Repository & Intelligence Server (IRIS), its first major product upgrade since taking over the platform from IBM. IRIS 3.2 is an event-driven traceability server that provides organizations, including manufacturers, wholesalers, and government agencies, with end-to-end product visibility and transaction security throughout the supply chain. The upgraded platform allows for faster product querying and provides improved integration with Frequentz's ePedigree offering. IRIS 3.2 also offers new serial number management capabilities and enhanced compliance features, and supports GS1 guidance for improved interoperability between trading partners.

"Our top priority at Frequentz is to stay ahead of important standards and regulatory requirements to ensure our platform allows customers to remain compliant, and that it can also be easily integrated into their business operations," said Ranjit Pradhan, CTO and SVP Global Commercialization, Frequentz. "The enhancements to IRIS are in direct response to customer feedback regarding today's dynamic regulatory landscape. IRIS customers are now equipped with actionable insight into every event along the product lifecycle, which results in enhanced consumer safety and improved business profitability." Key benefits extended to customers with the launch of IRIS 3.2 include: ePedigree: IRIS 3.2 features close integration with Frequentz's ePedigree product, offering an optional, add-on application that enables pharmaceutical manufacturers, wholesalers, and retailers to generate an electronic pedigree, or life history, of a pharmaceutical product as it moves through the supply chain Serial number management: In addition to the generation and import of serial numbers, IRIS 3.2 now supports China's State Food And Drug Administration (SFDA) serial number format GS1 compliance: IRIS 3.2 is certified GS1 compliant to ensure ease in supply chain management between partners. GS1 is an international organization that develops and maintains standards for supply and demand chains across multiple sectors. IRIS 3.2 is interoperable with all countries that have adopted the GS1 standard Combining Frequentz's data traceability technology with IBM's InfoSphere Traceability Server (acquired by Frequentz in November 2012), IRIS is the industry's most comprehensive and scalable track and trace technology. With a flexible deployment model, this latest product release comes from user feedback gathered at Frequentz's semi-annual Product Advisory Summits and regularly scheduled Voice of Customer meetings. In addition to these regular customer meetings, Frequentz has also established a Steering Committee of IRIS-installed customers to collaboratively interpret the recently passed Data Quality and Security Act (DQSA) legislation, which requires lot traceability. The goal of this committee is to help support customer compliance with, and implementation of, requirements from DQSA.
