Larimer County Updates 'LiL' - Land information Locator Web Application

(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) FORT COLLINS, Colo., Jan. 3 -- The Larimer County Board of County Commissioners issued the following news release: Larimer County's Geographic information Systems, GIS, and Mapping Group has updated the popular Land information Locator (LiL), the County's parcel locator suite of applications which provides a window to much of the county's most sought after land information and a variety of tools for access. The NEW LiL suite is accessible through the County's Enterprise GIS launch page at http://maps.larimer.org/lcmaps and from other links on the Virtual Courthouse, Larimer County's web site at www.larimer.org.

Whether a citizen is looking for tax parcel information or detail, parcel sales with available imagery, or wants to create an owner notification list in a particular boundary, documentation on how to use the NEW LiL application is provided in the help menu. Users can continue to use the former version, to ease through the transition, until March 1, 2014, when it sunsets.

Christine Day, GIS Application Program Analyst says the updated LiL is an improvement over it's predecessor however it functions similarly, "The look, feel and functionality is very similar to our more current GIS web-based applications such as our very popular Landscape Explorer." LiL was originally rolled out in 2007 then the application was broadened in 2009. LiL greatly enhanced access to the County's GIS information. "With the popularity of web-mapping applications the bar is high for the general public's expectations of Larimer's online mapping services," says County GIS Manager Jeff Rulli who adds, "Look for mobile versions of most of our Enterprise GIS web-based applications coming in January 2014." Chief Information Officer Mark Pfaffinger says LiL uses the latest in technological advances, "LiL is loaded with features and functionality. Citizens can perform common services that previous to 2009 were only available by visiting our County offices. The update makes the usability even easier."
