Fortinet Aces Anti-Phishing Test, Gets Advanced+ Rating from AV- Comparatives [Professional Services Close - Up](Professional Services Close - Up Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Fortinet -- a provider of high-performance network security -- announced the company has been awarded an Advanced+ rating in AV- Comparative's July 2013 Anti-Phishing Test, earning a 97 percent score out of 100 percent. According to a release, AV-Comparatives staff tested Fortinet's anti-phishing capabilities along with 15 other endpoint security solutions from multiple countries for phishing URL detection and false positives. The awards presented included Advanced+, Advanced, Standard and no award. Standard winners are considered to be good products that achieved a "good" score, Advanced winners received a "very good" score and Advanced+ winners received an "excellent" score. For the July 2013 test, malware sets were frozen on July 21, 2012 and consisted of 187 samples. Fortinet said its anti-phishing technology is part of the suite of security services developed and maintained by the company's global FortiGuard Labs research team, which delivers advanced malware threat protection for a range of Fortinet products, including FortiGate, FortiWeb, FortiMail, FortiCarrier, FortiCache and FortiClient products.
