Wireless Glue Networks Receives Patent for 'Providing an Area Network Middleware Interface'

Aug 29, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Wireless Glue Networks, Inc., a provider of real-time data and control on a single machine-to-machine (M2M) platform announced it has been issued patent No. 8,488,624, dated July 16, by the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

According to a release, the patent covers a method for achieving cross network communication among multiple devices communicating on different protocols in a highly flexible and extensible manner. The method allows connectivity of the numerous legacy hardware systems that exist using different object models. It is useful in a variety of M2M applications, including extension of the smart grid for demand-side energy management.

"We believe M2M connectivity is essential to extending the smart grid to demand-side energy management," said Peter McCabe, CEO of Wireless Glue Networks. "As organizations grapple with the challenges of energy management and demand response, only Wireless Glue's patented middleware technology provides energy management companies with comprehensive visibility and control over their entire customer base, regardless of location or device type."
