This July, the UK Government is set to announce the winning bidders for the Data Communications Company and the Communications Service Provider | Telecoms for Smart Grids

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) London (PRWEB UK) 1 July 2013 Questions remain of potential uncertainty and future developments in communications technology, with both challenges and risks in delivering a fit-for-purpose, secure system.

Industry and Government have also delayed the UK Smart Metering roll out to ensure the correct technology is in place, investment is handled correctly and to ensure they do not damage consumer trust but are able to stimulate adoption, whilst maintaining security and privacy.

What can the UK learn from European deployments and what can Europe learn from the UK’s experience? This September 23rd and 24th, just shortly after the bidding announcements, the SMi Group will be hosting its 3rd annual Telecoms for Smart Grids conference in London at the Marriott Hotel, Regents Park Each year, this event brings together leading European and UK utilities, industry authorities and solutions providers, to present and share best practice on what communication infrastructure will be the most appropriate backbone for the future Utility network. Leaders will discuss current and future initiatives, challenges, barriers and success stories in recent pilot projects encompassing Smart Metering and Distribution Network upgrades.

The SMi Group have withheld several positions on the conference to specifically cater to bid winners who wish to share and showcase their future plans.

Don’t miss this opportunity to understand how Utilities, Government and technology leaders will work collaboratively to move Smart Grid initiatives forward, and what partnerships will be required to fulfill their obligations.
