BRIEF: Police arrest Thomasville man targeting Hispanic businesses


THOMASVILLE, Jun 25, 2013 (The High Point Enterprise - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A Thomasville man robbing Hispanic businesses in the city has been arrested.

Thomasville police arrested Dupree Dishawn Jenkins, 25, of Sheppard Street, Monday in connection with two armed robberies that occurred at Cielito Lindo and Dos Toros Meat Market. He is charged with two counts of robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Federal charges also are pending for Jenkins.



"Through the investigation, video surveillance and identification of the suspect, detectives were able to obtain and serve a search warrant at a residence where the suspect lived," said Detective Chet Jarrell. "Detectives were able to recover property, including a firearm that linked the suspect to the robberies." Jenkins received a $250, 000 secured bond and was placed in the Davidson County Jail. He has a court date set for July 17 in Thomasville.
