Mocana Opens Call for Speakers for Next Amphion Forum in San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO --(Business Wire)--

Mocana (News - Alert), the app security leader, today announced a call for speakers for its next Amphion Forum event slated for December 12 and 13, 2013 in San Francisco, California. The Amphion Forum brings together over 300 technology leaders from business, academia and government to discuss the opportunities and threats presented by the proliferation of mobile devices. Organizers have tagged this year's two-day conference as "Big ideas from the intersection of security, mobility and the Internet of Things." The event is hosted by Mocana and presented by SAP (News - Alert).

Individuals with expertise in mobile and embedded security tech, policy, hacking and/or implementation are invited to submit proposals. Presentations discussing newly discovered hacks targeting mobile devices, apps and IOT platforms are especially sought. Speakers from academic, government and nonprofit organizations can qualify for a $1,000 travel reimbursement from the Forum.

The deadline for submitting a speaking application is July 26, 2013, and the proposal form is available online at www.amphionforum.com.

"The Amphion Forum is the only event that brings together the best minds from academia, the public sector and business to focus on the vulnerabilities and mobile security problems that threaten critical infrastructure, national security and commerce," said Kurt Stammberger, CISSP, vice president of market development at Mocana and chair of the Amphion Forum. "This event is a rare opportunity for all stakeholders with an interest in this issue to examine how to manage and leverage security concerns in the face of runaway deployments of connected devices."

Speakers are invited to submit proposals for the following tracks:

  • Mobile & IOT in Regulated Industries: Finance, Healthcare, Grid & Government
  • Business Case Studies in Secure Mobility and IOT
  • Hacks, Attacks & Mobile/IOT Forensics
  • Secure Development for Mobile and IOT
