BRIEF: Tehama County girl named 4-H ambassador


Jun 18, 2013 (Corning Observer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A six-year member of the Bend Jelly 4-H Club in Tehama County, Maryn Spangler of Red Bluff, has been chosen to serve as one of the 2013-14 California 4-H State Ambassadors.

She is the daughter of Debbie and Scott Spangler of Red Bluff.

Spangler has held leadership positions, completed an Emerald Star project, has been part of the B.L.A.S.T. Team and served on the county All Stars.


As an ambassador, Spangler will serve in the University of California 4-H Youth Development Program.

The title of California 4-H State Ambassador was previously named the California 4-H Diamond Star, in which Tehama County's last delegate was Shannon Davis in 2000-01.

Before Shannon were Jaime Martin, 1997-1998, John Andrew Johnson, 1980-1981, Merna Jean Borror in 1954, and William Borror in1950. Spangler will be the county's first delegate to hold the State Ambassador title.
