Railsware Provides Ruby Technology Monitoring for New Relic Open SaaS Platform

Railsware LLC, a premium software development consulting company, focused on delivering great web and mobile applications, announces it has published key Ruby technology monitoring plugins as an industry contributor to New Relic's open SaaS (News - Alert) platform, announced today in San Francisco. Plugins built by Railsware -- Haproxy, Resque, Processor statistics and LogWatcher - will enable any of New Relic 50,000+ customers to receive alerts and visualize the monitoring data of multiple Ruby on Rails technologies through the single New Relic user interface.

In particular,

  • Haproxy monitors HAProxy - a TCP/HTTP load balancer - and reports the data for a specified proxy;
    • Resque monitors Resque - a library for processing background jobs - and reports the data for a specified instance;
  • Processor (News - Alert) statistics (mpstat) reports the following MP statistics: user, nice, sys, iowait, irq, soft, steal, idle, intros;
  • Logwatcher monitors specified log file and reports the rate of occurrences of a provided term.

New Relic has introduced a new, open and extensible APM (News - Alert) SaaS platform, enabling a seamless view to monitor any technology through New Relic's intuitive and easy-to-use interface. Community-built plugins simplify the management of complex application stacks by adding monitoring capabilities for any technology to New Relic's existing web application monitoring solution.
