Wall Street Reports Releases Research on Verizon, Ciena, Level 3, Alcatel-Lucent and Exelis


Jun 19, 2013 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Wall Street Reports announced new research reports highlighting Verizon Communications Inc., Ciena Corp., Level 3 Communications, Inc., Alcatel-Lucent SA, and ITT Exelis.

In a release, the Company noted that on June 6, Verizon Communications Inc. announced that in partnership with SFR Business Team, a French provider of enterprise communication services, it has been chosen by Veolia Environnement to transform Veolia's global communications structure. The three-year contract covers 3,000 Veolia sites globally. Verizon and SFR Business team will provide Veolia with a secure and high-capacity global communications network to link 140 business sites in 33 countries, with integrated secure Internet and remote network access, and network optimization services for best application performance. Veolia will benefit from streamlined services, including integrated networks, convergent services, optimized processes, and customer service.

On a GAAP basis, the Company's revenue increased 6.3 percent YoY to $507.7 million. Net loss was $27.1 million or $0.27 per common share, compared to a net loss of $27.8 million or $0.28 per common share in Q2 FY2012.

Gary Smith, Ciena's President and Chief Executive Officer, said, "We have designed Ciena to take advantage of the fundamental shift in network architecture driven by changing end-user demands, and our strong quarterly and first half of 2013 performances are a direct result of that strategy. Our unique ability to provide customers convergence, automation, openness and software intelligence positions us to lead the industry in this shift." For Q3 FY 2013, the Company expects revenue to be in the range of $515 to $545 million.

Under the terms of the contract, Level 3 will provide Content Delivery Network services to help offer Dafiti's customers with improved performance and a better shopping experience.

Under this contract, Exelis will engage in the second full-rate production of the new AN/ALQ-214 (V)4/5 system, with system deliveries planned through 2015.
