[June 18, 2013] Huawei Helps Myanmar Develop Mobile Network Tweet SHENZHEN, Jun 18, 2013 (SinoCast Daily Business Beat via COMTEX) -- News from Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) said that it has selected Huawei Technologies for further development of local mobile network. Bidding invitation has been kicked off to several mobile network equipment suppliers including Ericsson (Nasdaq: ERIC), Huawei Technologies, Nokia Siemens Networks and ZTE Corporation (SEHK: 0763 and SZSE: 000063). Huawei Technologies was finally selected and promised to put USD 34 million in the cooperative project with MPT. Huawei Technologies, MPT and a smaller carrier Yatanarpon will get two local telecom licenses, leaving other two to international bidders. List for bid winners will be declared on June 27, 2013.
