The North Carolina Technology Association Opens Nominations for This Year's NCTA 21 AwardsRALEIGH, N.C. --(Business Wire)-- The North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA (News - Alert)), the primary voice of the technology industry in North Carolina, today announced nominations are open for the NCTA 21 Awards, the only statewide awards program for the tech sector. This year's awards will honor organizations in 18 corporate categories and executives in three individual categories. Companies do not need to be members of NCTA to enter and the deadline for applications is July 31, 2013. Third parties can nominate a company, organization or institution that is not their own employer using the site's online nomination form. Self-nominations may be submitted using the online application form. The awards website also contains a database of winners from the past 18 years. "Since 1995, the NCTA 21 Awards has honored North Carolina's best technology and most promising companies. We encourage both member and non-member companies to apply and join the ranks of the most innovative tech companies in the state," said Brooks Raiford, President and CEO, NCTA. Award finalists, which are announced in September, are selected by a review committee comprised of non-profit, media, education, and technology leaders representing various regions of the state. The awards will once again recognize a "Technology Executive of the Year," which will be decided by popular vote through an online poll. Winners will be announced and recognized at the annual awards gala, presented in conjunction with title sponsor Grant Thornton (News - Alert) on Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the Sheraton Imperial Hotel and Convention Center in Durham, N.C.
