The ultimate outdoor tablet: Sony Xperia Tablet Z [Week, The (Oman)]

(Week, The (Oman) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Whichever way you slice the tablet pie, Sony's Xperia Tablet Z is a sure contender for your hardearned gadget rials. The tablet is iconic, and easily one of the best looking on the market, plus, it inherits the slim, water resistant design of its smartphone counterpart, making it great for the outdoors. The fact that the tablet has IP57 certification makes it a great tablet to have when you're on the move since it is dust and water resistant up to 1m for 30 minutes. Sony's angular OmniBalance design means the tablet is a mere 6.9mm thick and weighs under 500g, at least 100g less than its direct competitors. The Xperia Tablet Z comes with an IR blaster to control home equipment, alongside a custom Sony music and video player with solid DLNA capabilities. WUXGA resolution on the 10.1" screen offers a 224ppi density, which easily betters Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 (149ppi), and is very close to the iPad 4 (264ppi). The battery life may not be stellar, but the overall product bests most of its tablet competition.
