Netronome Highlights Flow Processing Implementations in SDN and NFV at the Linley Tech Carrier Conference 2013

SANTA CLARA, Calif. --(Business Wire)--

Netronome, a fabless semiconductor company and the leading developer of flow processors, today announced that their industry experts will discuss network functions virtualization (NFV), its implications on carrier system designs and the relationship to software-defined networking (SDN) in today's networks at the Linley Tech Carrier Conference on June 13, 2013, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Santa Clara, Calif.

"Given the latest challenges in next generation carrier networks, we are excited to have technology leaders share their diverse perspectives on NFV and SDN," said Bob Wheeler, senior analyst at the Linley Group. "We look forward to hearing experts from Netronome (News - Alert) discuss NFV and SDN and its impact on the bottom line for carrier deployments."

Nabil Damouny, senior director of strategic marketing at Netronome, will take part in the keynote, "NFV: Making Carrier Networks Agile (News - Alert) and Efficient." Damouny, the editor of the Compute Domain requirements document at ETSI NFV, will discuss carrier trends of using virtualized COTS platforms to implement the various network elements in next generation, wireline and wireless, carrier networks. Nick Tausanovitch, director of solutions architecture at Netronome, will present, "SDN and Network Functions Virtualization in Carrier Networks: Opportunities, Challenges, and Solutions," on une 13. This presentation will focus on best practices and solutions for meeting the challenges that accompany building next generation carrier networking equipment.

"The benefits of SDN and NFV have been well articulated, but OEMs face major challenges in building network equipment implementing these technologies," said Jarrod Siket, senior vice president of marketing at Netronome. "By accelerating x86 platforms, Netronome's solution can meet the architecture challenges of such networks."

The two-day event highlights system design for wired and wireless infrastructure, such as Carrier Ethernet, optical transport, broadband infrastructure, and wireless base solutions. Attendees include system designers, network equipment vendors, OEMs, network service providers, and more.
