Actian Corp. Appoints Industry Veteran Steven Springsteel as Chief Financial Officer

Actian Corporation ("Actian"), a next-generation leader in big data management, today announced that it has appointed Steven Springsteel as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Springsteel brings more than 25 years of software company experience in a range of financial and operational leadership roles.

Most recently, Springsteel served as CFO and Chief Operating Officer for Liquid Robotics, Inc. While at Liquid Robotics, Steve led the closure of a major round of funding and implemented operational and financial systems facilitating large-scale growth. Prior to that he was CFO for MarkLogic, maker of an enterprise NoSQL database, and he has also served as Entrepreneur-in-Residence for U.S. Venture Partners. Springsteel also held president and CEO positions at software firms including Chordiant (News - Alert) Software, Verity and Sagent Technology. As chairman, president and CEO of Chordiant, he steered the organization to profitability while more than doubling the company's bookings to record levels. His accomplishments include the management of two successful IPOs and multiple mergers and acquisitions.
