(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) By Targeted News Service ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 6 -- Spansion, Sunnyvale, Calif., has been assigned a patent (8,458,393) developed by Tzungren Allan Tzeng, San Jose, Calif., for a "flash memory and operating system kernel." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "A memory system is provided. The system includes an operating system kernel that regulates read and write access to one or more FLASH memory devices that are employed for random access memory applications. A buffer component operates in conjunction with the kernel to regulate read and write access to the one or more FLASH devices." The patent application was filed on March 31, 2008 (12/059,816).
