Cisco Systems acquires UbiquisysMay 24, 2013 (Datamonitor Financial Deals Tracker via COMTEX) -- Cisco Systems, Inc., a US-based designer, manufacturer and seller of internet protocol-based networking and other products, has acquired Ubiquisys, Ltd., a UK-based developer of 3G femtocells, for approximately $310 million in cash and retention-based incentives. Earlier, Ubiquisys had secured venture financing from Mobile Internet Capital, Inc., Nissay Capital Co., Ltd., 5 Continents Consulting Group, Accel Partners, Advent Venture Partners LLP, Atlas Venture and Yasuda Enterprise Development Co., Ltd., Pacific Venture Partners and T-Mobile Venture Fund. The acquisition is expected to close in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2013. Fenwick & West LLP is acting as legal advisor and Morgan Stanley is acting as financial advisor to Cisco.
