[May 24, 2013] O2 staff in firm move [Liverpool Echo (England)] Tweet (Liverpool Echo (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) MORE than half of the 1,600 workers at mobile phone giant O2's call centre near Runcorn are to transfer to outsourcing company Capita. A sharp decline in the number of customers contacting O2 by telephone has led to the 10-year deal with Capita which will see 828 employees at Preston Brook transfer over under the same terms and conditions. There will be no compulsory redundancies, although O2 says the option of voluntary redundancy is open to all call centre workers.
