Suncoast Business Technologies is a 2013 Small Business of the Year [The Bradenton Herald](Bradenton Herald (FL) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) May 24--SARASOTA -- In a digital world, it's the personal touches that matter. In an industry that relies on automation, efficiency and accuracy, it's the analog touches of customer service that make Suncoast Business Technology a success. Clients are treated like they're part of the family, too, whether that's a verbal thank you, swinging by the office to say hello, or sending a box of chocolates or a Honeybaked ham to a client's office for Christmas. Suncoast Business Technology was named a Small Business of the Year by the Manatee Chamber of Commerce for businesses with annual revenues between $500,000 to $1 million. Suncoast Business Technologies was opened in 2007 by Chuck Walker, Kirk Deins and Kevin Baylor. Located at 722 Apex Road, Unit F, Sarasota, the information technology services company responds to clients from Naples to Palm Harbor, with a primary focus on Manatee and Sarasota counties. Suncoast Business Technologies provides solutions, consulting services and management for information technology for small- to mid-sized businesses. Some services include help-desk support, infrastructure management, system monitoring, network design, server support and the now-growing cloud technology service to access data remotely. In 2012, the business developed a new brand called Ring Authority that focuses on sales and services for hosted and on-premise VOIP phone and virtual fax systems. The biggest challenge for the business is recruiting and retaining candidates from the local workforce, and to help resolve that, the firm talks with local educational institutions about needs, courses and students' interests to attract well educated, highly qualified employees. Company employees are actively involved in the community and promote technology education. Suncoast Business Technologies has seen more businesses take an interest in upgrading their technology after years of delays by some firms. More industries are investing more in mobile technologies and cloud services that allow data to be accessed and shared anywhere, anytime. Employees are allowed to telecommute on an as-needed basis, and are allotted a flexible schedule to pursue higher education, training and certification. Employee performance bonuses have been increased, and the company continues to do outings and other social events. Community events and services are important for the company, as employees helped support local non-profits including the Family Partnership Center, Community Haven and participating with The Giving Partner.
