Centier Bank Branches Now Issuing Fully Active Cards Within Seconds with EFT Source's Card@Once®

NASHVILLE, Tenn. --(Business Wire)--

EFT Source, Inc., a provider of turnkey card programs and personalization services for ATM and debit cards for financial institutions, announced that Centier Bank, Indiana's largest privately-owned independent bank with $2.23 billion in assets, successfully launched its patented instant issuance solution, Card@Once.

With Card@Once, Centier's customers simply walk into a branch and, within seconds, receive a fully functioning, active payment card. When a customer requests a card, the data is securely transferred from the branch location to EFT Source (News - Alert). The data is immediately processed and converted into an encrypted print file that is sent back to the branch electronically. Card@Once encodes the data and prints the card allowing the customer to walk away with a ready-to-use, active debit card. The cardholder can immediately use the card and self-selected PIN at the onsit ATM, giving them added confidence that the card works on the spot.

Key to the implementation process, Card@Once seamlessly integrates with the bank's existing Computer Services, Inc. (CSI (News - Alert)) core platform. After hearing success stories from a number of CSI's customers using Card@Once, Centier tested the solution in four of its branches. Following a successful testing period, the bank implemented the card printer in 43 of its 45 branch locations.

"At Centier Bank, we strongly believe that no matter how large a business has grown, it is still possible to provide warm, personalized service," said Jeremy Miller, regional vice president, north region, Centier Bank. "With Card@Once, we deliver on that promise. By printing personalized cards onsite within minutes, our customers can now immediately use their bank-issued card as soon as they leave the branch. It's that fast, convenient and simple."

Since implementing Card@Once, Centier has realized significant benefits. Because cardholders can immediately use the card, more than half of the bank's customers used his or her card within eight hours of leaving the branch. In addition, the average time to customers' first use of the card during those eight hours was 93 minutes. Conversely, cards issued by mail average 10 days to first use. Not only does this provide superior customer satisfaction and loyalty, it enables an increase in activation rates and interchange revenue. Furthermore, Centier is able to save an estimated $6,000 in annual shipping costs and reduce the cost per card by 20 percent.

"Centier Bank's core mission to provide outstanding service and positive experiences has been a staple of its success for more than 118 years," said Bill Dinker, president of EFT Source. "By leveraging instant issuance technology, the bank can now easily and quickly deliver payment cards onsite, significantly improving customer satisfaction and loyalty. Their success is proof that Card@Once is at the forefront of innovation in profitability and increased customer loyalty, and we look forward to their continued success."
