[May 23, 2013] MSM index recovers [Times of Oman] Tweet (Times of Oman Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Muscat: The MSM30 Index closed with gains at 6377.80 points, up by 0.17 per cent. Al Anwar Holding was the most active in terms of volume, while Renaissances Services was the most active in terms of turnover. National Mineral Water was the top gainer to close up by 5.56 per cent, while Gulf Mushroom Products was the top loser and closed down by 2.71 per cent. Financial Sector Index was up by 0.42 per cent and closed at 7606.20 points. Al Anwar Holding, National Finance, Ominvest, Transgulf Holding and Oman & Emirates investment Co increased by 4.62 per cent, 2.72 per cent, 2.03 per cent, 1.25 per cent and 1.18 per cent, respectively. Financial Services, Bank Nizwa, Global Financial Investment, Taageer Finance and Gulf Investment Services declined by 1.16 per cent, 0.94 per cent, 0.93 per cent, 0.64 per cent and 0.57 per cent, respectively. The Industrial Sector Index closed at 9216.55 points, down by 0.15 per cent. National Mineral Water, Oman Fisheries, Galfar Engineering and Oman Cables increased by 5.56 per cent, 1.84 per cent, 1.06 per cent and 0.11 per cent, respectively. Gulf Mushroom Products, Jazeera Steel Product, Salalah Mills, Oman Cement and Al Hassan Engineering declined by 2.72 per cent, 1.33 per cent, 1.28 per cent, 0.76 per cent and 0.52 per cent, respectively. Services Sector Index was higher  by 0.10 per cent in trading and closed at 3330.72 points. Renaissance Services, Al Jazeira Services and Nawras increased by 1.96 per cent, 0.22 per cent and 0.21 per cent, respectively. Sohar Power, OIFC and Oman Telecommunications Company declined by 1.78 per cent, 0.53 per cent and 0.21 per cent, respectively.
