China : SHANGHAI geared up to enjoy the super-speedy 4G services from JUNE [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) The planned launch of 4G trials in Shanghai next month, thanks to the new initiative of China Mobile, will facilitate users to enjoy the super speedy 4G services, which deliver mobile users with high-speed internet access, to be precise, as much as fiftyfold faster speed over the existing 3G network. The deployment of the fourth generation mobile telephone communication technology, also known as 4G, facilitates delivery of fast internet access on a range of gadgets like telephones, data cards and MiFi routes, an appliance to transfer signals to Wi-Fi for devices such as iPhones, iPads and laptops. The Shanghai branch of China Mobile has decided to request 5,000 users from 1st of the next month to make experiments on the newest 4G products, counting mobile telephones and data cards, founded on Time division-Long Term Evolution (TD-LTE) technology. Shanghai Mobile has already installed 1,000 base stations, with plans to include the whole city by this year end. The data cards and phones equipped with 4G offer download speeds between 10 and 60 megabits per second as against around 1 megabit on the existing 3G network. Handsets with TD-LTE are restricted as the network system is utilized mainly in China. But, phones and data cards from the houses of Huawei, Alcatel-Lucent Shanghai Bell and Datang Mobile are available now. It can be noted that TD-LTE is not supported by several well-liked smart-devices, including Apple's iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy 4. According to Shanghai Mobile, Samsung products will start supporting 4G technology of China shortly. Considering the ongoing discussions amid Apple and China Mobile, it is anticipated that Apple s latest iPhone will support the 4G network of China Mobile in late 2013 or in next year, said Shanghai Mobile. China Mobile has more than 726 million mobile subscribers, followed by China Unicom s 251 million.
