A.M. Best Withdraws Ratings of Western Professional Insurance Company


OLDWICK, N.J. --(Business Wire)--

A.M. Best Co. has withdrawn the financial strength rating of A- (Excellent) and the issuer credit rating of "a-"of Western Professional Insurance Company (WPIC) (Seattle, WA).

These rating actions are the result of WPIC's current inactive status in the medical professional liability market. Should the status of WPIC change in the future, its ratings will be reassessed. The ratings of its parent, Physicians Insurance A Mutual Company (Seattle, WA) were not affected by these rating actions.
