Mauli Ola Foundation Kicks off the National Aloha Tour Just in Time for Cystic Fibrosis MonthLAGUNA BEACH, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- In an effort to spread Aloha and give patients hope, Mauli Ola Foundation (MOF) launched a National Tour filled with Surf Experience Days, Hospital Visits and Events in recognition of cystic fibrosis (CF) awareness month. For almost 5 years, MOF members continue to commit their time to spreading awareness about the benefits of surfing for patients with CF. The natural healing properties of the ocean come from the salt water that acts like saline treatment and washes out the mucus from the lungs.

(Photo: Business Wire) "Stoking patients through natural ocean therapies and raising awareness for CF is our thing, we go all in for the month of May, guns blazing," says Mauli Ola Director and professional surfer, Hans Hagen. A Surf Experience Day, hosted by surf legend Gavin Beschen, at Churches Beach in San Clemente started the tour. Legends like Richard Schmidt and Shawn 'Barney' Barron also hosted additional events in Santa Cruz the following weekend. Surfers make a special effort to visit children with CF who are unable to attend Surf Experience Days by traveling to local pediatric hospitals Central California Children's-Madera, Sutter Memorial, UC Davis, Benioff Children's, Oakland Children's, and Lucile Packard at Stanford University in Northern California. MOF also hosted a benefit show at The White House in Laguna Beach, CA (News - Alert) featuring 80's hit bands Dramarama, Oingo Boingo and LA Guns in addition to Thrive and Hallway Ballers that performed at The Barrelhouse in San Francisco. Additional MOF events include: Surf Experience days in Waikiki and Bellows Beach, Hawaii, Southern California, Texas and of course an East Coast Tour.
