China's IT mkt to maintain steady increase in the future, IDC


BEIJING, May 22, 2013 (Xinhua via COMTEX) -- China's Information Technology (IT) mar ket would witness a steady rise on its market value in following five years, Huo Jinjie, general manager China of the market researcher the IDC Corp., said on Wednesday.

According to the statistics released by the IDC Corp., in the first quarter of 2013 the global PC market saw a largest quarterly decline since the year of 1994, with shipments down 13.9 percent year on year.

China's PC shipments were also down 12.3 percent year on year in Q1 o f 2013.


Wu Lianfeng, assistant vice president with IDC China, said that des pite a slower increasing in China's IT market since the beginning of t his year, the technology based on the third platform, including cloud computing and big data, would drive the country's software and service market to keep fast development.

These fields would see a more than 30 percent compound annual growt h rate in the coming five years, which would bring huge opportunities and challenges for China's IT market.

IDC estimated that the growth rate of IT market in China was likely to be 12.9 percent in the whole year of 2013, helped by smartphones, f lat panel computers, and the IT services market. (Edited by Ma Xin, ma [email protected])
