[May 22, 2013] TV/Radio Notes: Verizon cable subscribers can watch films for free Tweet May 22, 2013 (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Let the binge-watching begin! Verizon will be running a marathon of some of its most popular TV programming this weekend, when subscribers can access more than 1,700 movies and 50 television series for free. The event runs from Friday through Tuesday and will make available premium network content. A "Free Marathon" folder will be active through the Video On Demand channel. Subscribers can check out the FiOS Facebook page for more details at www.facebook.com/VerizonFiOS. ------ The University of Pittsburgh student radio station, 92.1 WPTS-FM, will be honored by City Council with its own "day" Tuesday. The resolution recognizes the station's long history at the school. WPTS recently finished in the top five in mtvU's ranking of the country's best college radio stations. ------ PCNC's "No Fee TV" goes on hiatus beginning Tuesday until Sept. 17. A Channel 11 7 p.m. news telecast replay will air on Tuesdays from 7:30-8 p.m. A variety of programming will run on Saturdays from 12:30-1 p.m., the time slot regularly assigned to "No Fee TV" encores. PCN will honor veterans this weekend with selected interviews from its "World War II: In Their Own Words" and "Voices of Veterans" series.
