Raytheon Assigned Patent(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) By Targeted News Service ALEXANDRIA, Va., May 22 -- Raytheon, Waltham, Mass., has been assigned a patent (8,448,127) developed by Joe H. Lindley, Garland, Texas, and Gary D. Thomas, Richardson, Texas, for a "software forecasting system." The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "According to one embodiment, a software forecasting system includes a software forecasting tool coupled to a user interface and a software cost estimation tool. The software forecasting tool generates a software development metric according to attributes derived from one or more previous software development projects. The software forecasting tool receives a similar software development metric from the software cost estimation tool and calculates a difference between the received metric and that of its own and displays the result on the user interface." The patent application was filed on Jan. 30, 2009 (12/363,417).
