[May 21, 2013] BRIEF: Slows makes Foursquare's top 10 BBQ joint check-ins Tweet May 21, 2013 (Detroit Free Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- The Foursquare social media networking service ranks Slows Bar BQ in Detroit among its members' 10 most-visited barbecue joints in America, as measured by user check-ins last summer. The company, with more than 30 million registered members, counted barbecue restaurant visits reported between Memorial Day and Labor Day last year. The small restaurant in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood ranked seventh on a list dominated by places in more popular tourist cities such as New York City, San Diego and Atlanta. Foursquare users check in when they visit a restaurant or other business and can earn rewards for doing so. They can also use check-ins logged by other members to identify locally popular spots to visit.
